Historic Clark County is a free mobile app that puts Clark County history at your fingertips. Developed by the Clark County Historic Preservation Commission, Historic Clark County lets you explore the buildings and properties that are the cornerstone of the county’s heritage and culture. Older buildings showcase unique architectural styles and technical innovations. They are also a symbol of the pioneers’ creativity and ingenuity.

Historic Clark County lists the official historic register buildings and sites near you, anywhere in the county. It tells you info on each site’s historic significance with photos and the year it was designated.

You can search by historic name; type of site (house, parks, business, farm, etc.) and share the info through social media.

Tour through the northern part of the county and make a stop in Woodland at the Cedar Creek Grist Mill where you can pick up a sack of freshly-ground flour. Visit the Covington log cabin in Vancouver. It once housed the region’s first piano and was the center of hospitality and entertainment in the 1850s.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Parkersville Landing Site in Washougal. For centuries, Chinook Indians fished and trapped along these banks of the Columbia River. Sip a latté and wander and window-shop along the streets of downtown Vancouver. More than two dozen well-preserved and historically important sites are part of Vancouver’s commercial core.

This app can help you discover Clark County’s rich cultural heritage and its breathtaking natural beauty!
